Giants Causeway, Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge and Belfast Private Day Tour

Our Giants Causeway, Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge and Belfast Private Day Tour leaves Dublin early in the morning for a long day. It is a three hour drive north to the Giant’s Causeway and the stunning north Antrim coastline. You first stop is at the UNESCO World Heritage site where you will see the hexagonal basalt columns that form this unique landscape. The stories are many, and usually as tall as the columns themselves, and youi will hear thee from your tour guide along the way. A light lunch follows in the Visitor Centre or the local pub, The Nook. After the Causeway you will continue on the Causeway Coastal Route towards the Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge and vistas out over wild the north Atlantic and Scotland in the distance. The rope bridge is a secure bridge crossing a narrow gorge to an island that allowed fishermen of yore access to the waters along these rocky cliff tops. It is a must do for all visitors to the area and an instant photo opportunity for all. Leaving the north coast we travel south again through the lush picture perfect rural landscape carved out of the wild Irish hills. This is the home of the Ulster Scots, a distinct ethnic group with ancestry on both sides of the waters up here. You will hear of their role in Irish and US history on the way to Belfast. Our final stop is undergoing a renaissance after years of conflict and is a vibrant city centre filled with famed street art depicting ‘The Troubles’ but also a new young culture leaving all that behind and embracing a shared island approach. We leave Belfast for a two hour drive back to Dublin on the main motorway between these two capital cities.
