Privacy Policy

Who we are

DMC Tours Ireland is operated by Dublin Unlocked Ltd, which is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

Our website is dmctoursireland.com. For privacy enquiries or to exercise your data protection rights, contact info@dmctoursireland.com.

Information we collect

When you contact us, we collect the information you provide. This may include your name, email address, proposed travel dates, party size, interests and the details of your enquiry.

If a travel advisor contacts us on your behalf, we may receive information needed to discuss and plan your journey, including your contact details, preferences and proposed itinerary.

Please share only information relevant to your enquiry. Avoid sending passport details, payment-card information or sensitive personal information through the enquiry form.

Our hosting and security services may also process technical information, including IP addresses, browser information, pages requested and access times, to operate and protect the website.

How we use your information

We use your information to respond to enquiries, discuss availability, prepare proposals, plan journeys and provide services you request.

Where you are considering or booking our services, we process relevant information to take steps at your request before entering a contract, or to fulfil that contract.

We rely on our legitimate interests to manage general business correspondence, communicate with travel advisors and protect our website against misuse. These interests are providing a reliable service and maintaining the security of our business and website.

Where we must retain records for accounting, tax or other legal requirements, we rely on those legal obligations.

Providing information is voluntary, although we need sufficient contact and journey details to respond meaningfully. Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing mailing list.

Who receives your information

Information may be processed by providers supporting our website hosting, email, IT and security services.

Where necessary to arrange a requested service, relevant details may also be shared with your travel advisor or suppliers involved in your journey. We limit sharing to information needed for the relevant purpose.

We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Hosting, backups and support access

Our website and email services are hosted by Maxer Host Limited in Dublin, Ireland. This includes website files, databases and email services.

Maxer stores hosting backups separately in Frankfurt, Germany. Its standard arrangements include daily recovery points retained for approximately 21 days and additional month-end backups.

Authorised Maxer personnel may access information where necessary to provide, maintain and support these services. Some authorised staff may occasionally work outside the European Economic Area, including in Northern Ireland. Maxer states that access is restricted and subject to its security controls and confidentiality obligations.

How long we keep information

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted from our active records within 12 months of our last substantive correspondence, unless a legal obligation or an ongoing dispute requires longer retention.

For confirmed bookings, we retain relevant information for as long as needed to deliver the service and meet applicable accounting, legal and claims requirements.

Technical and security records are retained according to their operational purpose and the need to investigate or prevent misuse.

Deleted information may remain in backup copies until those copies expire through the normal backup cycle.

Cookies, analytics and external services

We use necessary cookies to support the website’s operation and remember your cookie choices. WordPress also uses cookies for authorised users signing in to manage the website.

We use Google Analytics 4, connected through Google Site Kit, to understand how visitors find and use our website and help us improve it. Information may include pages viewed, interactions, referral sources, browser and device details, and approximate location. Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses. Our use of optional analytics cookies relies on your consent. You can accept, reject or customise these cookies through our banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Consent Preferences button at the bottom-left of the website.

Analytics cookies include _ga and _ga_T6BMJJFMEG. Their default lifetime is up to two years, although browser restrictions or our settings may shorten this. Google processes Analytics information on our behalf. Processing may take place outside the European Economic Area under Google’s applicable data-processing and international-transfer arrangements. See Google’s data-processing terms and how Google uses information from websites using its services. business.safety.google

You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Rejecting optional analytics cookies does not prevent you from browsing the website or sending an enquiry.

Google Analytics is configured to retain user-level and event-level data for 14 months, with automatic renewal of user-identifier retention on new activity disabled. Aggregated statistical reports may remain available for longer.

Our website links to external services, including social networks, Google and ToursByLocals. When you follow those links, those services process information under their own privacy policies.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access to your personal information, correction, erasure, restriction of processing or a portable copy. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests.

Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting processing carried out lawfully beforehand.

Contact info@dmctoursireland.com to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before releasing or changing personal information.

You may also complain to Ireland’s Data Protection Commission. Information about your rights and making a complaint is available at www.dataprotection.ie.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our services or information-handling practices change.
