Glendalough & Kilkenny Private Day Tour

This is a classic day trip from Dublin covering two great locations in one day. You will leave for Glendalough in the morning for a visit to the early Christian monastic settlement in Glendalough. There will be time for a morning walk down to the Upper Lake also before you depart for Kilkenny. Leaving Glendalough you will pass over the Wicklow Gap and continue thru the village of Hollywood.

En route to Kilkenny you will pass thru some historic towns with medieval castle and abbey ruins. All of this serves as a great introduction to the medieval capital of Ireland. There is so much to do and see your guide will take you thru the town by car and/or on foot if desired. There are castles, townhouses and old churches to be explored a riverside walk as well and some of the best kept secrets in the country to discover.

Lunch on this day can be along the way between the two stops in a choice of two of Irelands most renowned gastro-pubs or in Kilkenny itself. As always food is front and centre on our tours and I didn’t even mention CakeFace in Kilkenny, famed as the cake shop in the land.
